Studio ArchiFad was commissioned to deliver the design, permit package and contract administration for the interior fit-up of this 3,600 sq.ft. Commercial unit in Town of Richmond Hill.
Creating the Cyan brand that mixes the nightlife ambiance with the Middle Eastern dining and hookah flare was a fun challenge. The change of unit use from bank to lounge resulted in radical changes to the unit layout, including the fire rating of the unit, installing new commercial kitchen and increasing occupancy load from 10 to 100. We addressed all challenges in a creative yet cost effective manner.

The Toronto Lawn Tennis Club is one of the earliest private recreational clubs in Toronto and has enjoyed a long history of excellence in terms of tennis and recreational facilities. The club renovation and expansion included 4 indoor Har-tru tennis courts in addition to extensive fitness, aerobics, squash, administration, under ground parking and social facilities.
The design provides a state of the art recreation complex in the context and character of the existing historic club.
This flagship store is part of a 16 hectare redevelopment on the rapidly intensifying Sheppard Avenue corridor. The building is located to front directly onto the adjacent streets, providing an urban street presence while responding to the imperatives of the City of Toronto’s Official Plan for the area. Underground parking and additional retail space are incorporated into the design to take advantage of the change in grade across the site.

Inspired by the crystalline forms in the ROM's mineralogy galleries, Libeskind has proposed a structure of organically interlocking prismatic forms, turning this important corner of Toronto and the entire museum complex into a luminous beacon, a showcase of people, events, and objects.
The crystal transforms the ROM's fortress-like character, turning it into an inspired atmosphere dedicated to the resurgence of the museum as the dynamic centre of Toronto.
The heritage buildings were restored in a contemporary and clean way while paying homage to the original early 1900s design, providing a beautiful contrast between the new and the old. Total construction cost around $300M.

Studio ArchiFad was commissioned to renovate this food court unit with new branding design for the Food Factory – El Greeko Chain of restaurants. Work included installing a new commercial kitchen hood and complete renovation to serving counter and kitchen with new selection of equipment. The Albion Mall restaurant renovation was completed summer of 2012.

The Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah – it boasts a population of just 300,000 people – is a 65,000m2 248-bed medical facility, with speciality units comprising oncology, cardiology, a trauma centre and emergency department.
The six-storey building incorporates the latest international design and medical planning solutions, and is intended to reflect the culture and customs of the region as well as sit comfortably in its dramatic natural environment.
This trendy boutique Toronto condominium was completed in 2000. The Maxim is a popular condo consisting of 88 units.
This stacked townhome condominium project is located at the busy intersection of Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East in Toronto. It contains 92 units, varying in size from 600 sf to 1500 sf, in three blocks positioned over a single level underground parking garage. The blocks are arranged to form an interior landscaped courtyard with a well defined pedestrian walkway system that relates to the main intersection at the north-east corner of the site.

The professional strength of ArchiFad is attributed to the credentials of Ms. Fadia Pahlawan who is a registered Architect in Ontario, member of Heritage Vaughan Committee and has 20+ years of experience in architecture and planning, with significant focus on building codes and life safety reviews and implementation, as well as accessibility and barrier free design standards compliance. Ms. Pahlawan is reputable for her strong project management skills, sound design capabilities, high confidence coordinating with consultants, contractors and manufacturers. She is tactful in establishing conflict resolution and problem solving solutions, while reporting to her clients, keeping their best interest in mind.

Developed work plans, budgets and project schedule including resource requirements, deliverables, and task requirements. Reviewed and participated in the preparation of the space program and feasibility studies on several blocking and stacking options to obtain preliminary costs for each option. Prepared reports for client on the pros and cons for each option. Prepared full design documents to enable client and user groups to visualize the selected scheme for final approval.
The Nova Centre is proposed in the heart of downtown Halifax in the Central Business District.
The project is the most significant new construction project in Halifax for several decades. Occupying two contiguous city blocks, Nova Centre is a mixed use development consisting of a Convention/Trade Centre, Convention Hotel, Financial Centre, Commercial, Retail and Residential Suites. With a 600 under ground car parking component, the completed project represents 1.2 million square feet of new construction with a projected cost of $300M.

Studio ArchiFad was commissioned to deliver the design and construction administration of this 1200 SF commercial unit in Ajax. The challenge was to fit the space program into this small space on a set budget. Where 4 treatment chambers were created at the back of the unit, while the front of the unit benefits from an open space concept with a rich feeling of calmness around the fireplace.
Providing planning, programming, and design services for a new Court Complex on a desert site minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi. The objective is to create a modern courthouse that is flexible, durable, employs ‘smart’ technologies, sustainable design initiatives, incorporates the leading trends and best practices in courthouse design, and above all, conveys the dignity and gravitas symbolic of the judicial system.
The 40,000 sm (430,600 sf) 7-story complex is a programmatically complex facility, containing 37 courtrooms and housing 16 major functional components: Ministry of Justice; Preliminary Courts; Juvenile Courts; Appeals Courts; Settlement Committee; Public Prosecutor; Appeals Prosecutor; Administration of State Matters; Public (Notary) Attorneys; Forensics; Facility Administration; Information Technology (IT) Management; Security; Food Services; Central Services; Common Spaces; and Lobby.

The complex construction process of this 200,000 square foot shopping centre in Toronto involved the phased demolition of an existing suburban enclosed mall which had outlived its useful life. Existing tenants were maintained in their premises while the new buildings were constructed. The project is anchored by a large format Canadian Tire store, Price Chopper, and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital Extension – Ajman. It is located in the Emirate of Ajman behind the existing Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital.
The hospital extension is approximately 16,000 square meters over two floors. The building provides 161 beds for the new Women Hospital for Gynecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics.

Two commercial units were combined to allow for a 7000 SF club that is equipped with thirteen simulators, retail space, lounge and bar and administration offices. The club opened doors in the spring of 2012. A new 840 SF patio is to be added to the lounge area.
